Sysadmin on the defense.
First order of business. At times, as a technical professional, there are things I must do in a defensive stance. As it is the case now, I’ve landed in a bit of a hot zone and must take defensive action against possible threats to our infrastructure. —Oh yeah for those of you keeping track… the job prospect is going excellent.

Things I will miss
The time is coming, sooner than I realized we’re getting down to the wire. In fact, my last official day here is next Tuesday. Then at that point, I know for a fact that I will be unemployed for at least one more week. (more on that later). I wanted to reminesce and post some of the things I’m going to miss when I leave.

Re-inventing myself
About four weeks ago, I gave notice at my current place of employment. I gave up on the commonplace and formal 2 weeks and instead, I gave 6 weeks. I didn’t want to burn a bridge with the company I’ve spent the last almost 6 years of my life.
